It all began with a love for the land and an OTTB.  Eric and Lisa came from NYC to visit the Abiquiu area on their honeymoon in 2006, and created the dream of someday living in the desert landscape on the beautiful Chama river.

The dream gained traction when after a long hiatus from horses, Lisa desired to pick up the passion again and took on the project of an OTTB that Lisa named Chama.  Before she knew it, Lisa was headfirst into the world of Hunter/Jumper competition and ready to create a space for her passion…on the Chama river.

The ranch is designed for horses and their humans to relax and enjoy the landscape with the added feature of top quality training.

Training at the ranch caters to women that want to be in New Mexico, enjoy their horses, challenge themselves, and support each other.

We at Riverhorse Ranch pride ourselves in maintaining a positive atmosphere. It is a place where a lucky group of like-minded women get to express their passion for having a positive riding relationship with their horses, and gain confidence with the support of their friends and animals.
